Rhode Island State Police Headquarters
RGB designed the new, 56,000 SF Rhode Island State Police Headquarters and RI E 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Facility, to LEED Silver Certification. This state-of-the-art facility consolidated the RI State Police main headquarters and two operational barracks, in addition to supporting office departments such as the Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI), and Patrol, Detective & Administrative Bureaus. An added major component to the project was the inclusion of the RI E 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System new main headquarters. This was in addition to a press and conference center and holding and processing center.
The challenge for this project was to find a site which was centrally located with access to highways binary roads and equipped for 21st century policing including 911 emergency center and crime lab.
The RGB team was comprised of the nationally recognized law enforcement expert, SCHRADERGROUP architecture, LLC (SGA), and L. Robert Kimball Associates.
