Kingston Hill Academy Expansion – Phases I, II and III
RGB developed RIDE Stage II Necessity of School Construction Application for an expansion to the existing academy consisting of a multi-use classroom for special education, maker-space, dedicated STEAM learning space, sensory room for clinical services, break out areas for small group work, classrooms, storage areas and support spaces. The planned expansion will allow the public charter school seeks to accommodate growth in student population from the current 190 students up to 260 students and provide educational programs that were not possible with the space available previously.
The occupied campus expansion included three different phases whereby RGB completed construction documents and provided bidding administration for the academy.
Adding OPM Value: RGB successfully completed this three-phased expansion and renovation to Kingston Hill Academy. The first two phases were paramount in being awarded OPM services for the third phase of construction, while still acting as the architect of record for the overall project. We were able to demonstrate the ability to provide cost effective design as well as manage the construction process along with maintaining the budget and schedule. This allowed the school to take full advantage of its contingency budget by adding additional scope of wishlist items from phases one and two. RGB brought their combined knowledge and experience of 30 years of school design and project management together to serve Kingston Hill Academy in full capacity as architect and owner’s project manager. This allowed Kingston Hill Academy a very successful outcome of keeping the project on time and on budget.
