RGB designed renovations to the Harborview Campus located in Cranston, Rhode Island. The existing building was classified as a non-separated, mixed-use occupancy consisting of a two-story assembly and dining structure connected to a five-story residence hall.

The renovations to the assembly area included upgrades and redesign of the upper level function areas and lower level student dining areas.

A complete redesign of the lower level kitchen was necessary to provide state-of-the-art food preparation and teaching facilities to improve flow and utilization of the existing space. The project also takes full advantage of the building’s proximity to Narragansett Bay through the construction of an exterior plaza and outdoor kitchen. The work associated with the renovations of the assembly areas consisted of approximately 22,900 square feet of interior renovations and 15,000 square feet of exterior plaza improvements.

The renovations to the residence hall included interior finish upgrades to all resident’s rooms and public corridors. The work associated with the dormitory areas consisted of approximately 53,340 square feet of interior renovations, primarily in the resident bathrooms and corridors. The renovation work was completed in two phases during a partially occupied building.
