Higher Education Center of Northern Rhode Island
The State of Rhode Island asked RGB to look at scenarios to fit its new school for the Higher Education Center of Northern Rhode Island (HENRI). The purpose of the test-fit study was to determine if the selected program could function within the existing buildings identified, or if an open site where a new building can be built within the City of Woonsocket would be better suited. RGB assembled a team of architects and engineers to look at potential scenarios for the identified sites.
The report provides an evaluation of four locations, a review of the current condition of the buildings and sites, and an overall expectation of potential costs. This study considered the option either to lease or to buy one of the existing buildings or to build new. Total estimated costs ranged between $8.9 and $14.6 million.
