Chariho Alternative Learning Academy
RGB completed the design of a 13,000 SF addition at the Chariho Middle school to house a stand-alone Alternative Learning school program (formerly known as Reaching Youth Through Support and Education School or R.Y.S.E.). The school serves approximately 55 students drawn from the Middle and High School by offering individualized education opportunities including interactive technology. The construction cost was $5.2 million and the project was completed in June 2018.
The new facility replaces several leased temporary trailers that had not only begun to age, but also did not optimally meet the unique needs of the school and its students. As a result, the Alternative Learning Academy has contemporary classrooms with flexible spaces and furniture, including a multi-use gym/assembly area.
