Blackstone Valley State Park Visitor Center
Set within the Blackstone River State Park and connected to the Blackstone Historic Corridor bike path, this award-winning visitor center complements the natural setting and historic architecture of northern Rhode Island. Boasting a cathedral-like space with mass timber construction maximizes natural day lighting through the use of clerestories on both the east and west facade. The central hall space displays the story of the Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor with a custom terrazzo floor inlay to match the near by Blackstone River.
The center was commissioned by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and houses their offices as well as offices for the Rhode Island State Police. It also serves as a visitor center for the State of Rhode Island located just off Route 295N.
