Scalabrini Villa

Situated on a scenic overlook with expansive views of Narragansett Bay, Scalabrini Villa is an expansive health care center providing long- and short-term care, rehabilitation, respite care, Alzheimer, and hospice services. RGB created a master plan and certificate of need study which led to the design and construction of a new facility. The new facility incorporates the latest engineering and equipment technology and patient care design doctrine inside a traditional building that responds to the vernacular of coastal architecture. The project also included the restoration of a second empire revival mansion.

Balmoral Assisted Living

RGB's design featured a grand, ballroom like community dining room that takes advantage of the Florida climate and landscape. This centerpiece of the 100 unit assisted living and Alzheimer’s retirement community adds to it's inviting character.

Painted wood trellises and deep overhanging roof eaves on the exterior allow maximum daylight, without excessive heat and glare in the interior. Inside, traditional furniture rendered in playful pastels with floral patterns is nostalgic accents such as swag drapery and twinkling golden chandeliers.

Bridgham Manor

A historic structure in need of repair, Bridgham Manor, located in Providence's Broadway Armory Historic District, posed a unique challenge. Begun in October of 2007 and completed in August of 2008, the $1.5 million restoration included repair to the existing masonry, cast stone architectural details, EIFS wall system, and flashing. All of the repair and replacement was done per Rhode Island Historic Preservation and Heritage Commission guidelines and through their approval process.

The Manor’s elderly residents remained in residency during construction and great care was taken to minimize disruption throughout the 34,000 SF facility.

Emerald Bay Manor

RGB provided design services for this continuing care community located in the quiet country village of Chapel Four Corners in Cumberland, RI. The architecture and character of Emerald Bay echo the rich, rural character of this picture postcard community in the historic Blackstone Valley.

This three-story, 108,837 SF facility has 132 congregate living units, and 20 skilled care units. Amenities include private dining facilities, library, pub, lounges, full kitchen services, a craft room, laundry room, exercise room, swimming pool and spa, game room, country store, beauty salon and tenant storage.

Hanora Lippitt Mill

Harris House

RGB provided architectural, structural engineering, and interior design services for the design of this adaptive reuse project.

This project consisted of the reuse of an A&P industrial warehouse into elderly housing. RGB completed investigative surveys and site design for the 100 unit elderly apartment complex.

Classic Residences by Hyatt at Lakeside Village

Set on the shores of Lake Osborne in Florida, local breezy palm trees and lush vegetation surround the Lakeside Village, a comprehensive care facility that provides its residents with a full spectrum of services.

Designed for Encore Senior Living in conjunction with hospitality giant Hyatt, RGB integrated an Alzheimer’s care center, nursing facility, fitness and pharmaceutical services, 178 adult retirement units, and 34 on-story villas in a sprawling 300,000 square foot complex.

The building sites take advantage of the natural beauty of Lake Osbourne. Shallow reflecting pools and fountains dot the landscape, providing visual appeal and cooling comfort.

Pines of Mandarin

The design of this 225,000 square foot acute care and wellness facility in Tampa, Florida incorporated a variety of layouts on four stories amongst 150 living units.

Pastels and floral prints created a homey, living room atmosphere in the glass roofed atrium main space. Harnessing the Florida sunshine, the interior streets that ring the atrium offer an open, welcoming path to residents.

A full service commercial kitchen and servery offer a variety of nutritional meals and snacks that cater to dietary needs.

Alpine Nursing Home

120 units assisted, 45 units nursing.

Barrington Cove

For this adaptive re-use project, RGB converted a historic mill complex into an assisted living facility. The project called for selective demolition, and the layout and components of the original buildings called for five separate floor plans for the residential areas. The site itself, located on a flood plain, required care in building technique, as well as code variances to allow for construction. Additionally, the project converted a two-story building into three stories containing 61 units. RGB also converted a boiler house into the main entrance and community center.

North Bay Manor

North Bay Manor was one of the first continuing care retirement centers in Rhode Island.
